Luis S. Canete, CSA
Luis S. Canete, CSA is a casting director and proud member of the Casting Society of America that works in both Los Angeles and New York.
Currently he is casting a 17 episode TV series called Francis of Assisi: A Life of Adventure with an international US/UK/EU cast and recently cast a worldwide theatrically released feature film called Remember Me, starring Bruce Dern & Brian Cox. In 2018, he also did the casting of a European film called Africa, a Prime Video TV series titled Magi, and additional casting for a Warner Bros/Eyeworks TV series called The Infiltrator, amongst others.
He worked as the International Casting Director for a feature called Little America, did the additional principal casting of; the film Duck Butter for Netflix, a mini series docudrama for the BBC titled Six Wives with Lucy Worsley, and a TV series for Disney called Evermoor. Additionally, Luis and his team cast over 200+ principal roles between London and Spain for the English language RTVE mini series called Queens: Virgin & Martyr, now on Amazon Prime Video. Luis is also fortunate to have been the Casting Associate on the Oscar® nominated HBO Film, Maria Full of Grace. During his start he worked with and learned from legendary casting directors such as Donna DeSeta, CSA, Maria E. Nelson, Ellyn Marshall & Carlyn Davis, CSA along with the iconic Central Casting in New York.
He holds a B.A. In Theater with a focus on acting & directing from George Mason University in Virginia, USA and studied Final Cut Pro editing at the Manhattan Edit Workshop. He has extensive training and experience in production and has worked on films such as Super Troopers, Knight & Day and The Cold Light of Day . He is also proud to have produced video content for the Moving Pictures Video Lounge at the TriBeCa Film Festival.
